나이가 들면 들수록 트로트 음악이 좋아진다는 말 많이 들었습니다. 제 주장에 따르면 미국 트로트가 country music이니까 나이 들면 그 음악도 좋아지고 하겠죠.

제 말빨과 우기는 재주에 지극히 많은 도움을 준 소설가 박형서의 '논쟁의 기술'이라는 단편 소설이 있습니다. 논쟁이라는 것은 승부가 있는 것이고 앞으로 말싸움에서 지고 싶지 않다면 읽어 보십시요. 다른 어떤 면보다도 소설로서의 재미가 있습니다. 마음 잡고 한 가지 얘기만을 하지 않고 왔다갔다 하는 것도 배웠습니다.

저에 대해서 말씀 드리자면 저는 어렸을 적에도 country music 좋아했고요. 어렸을 때는 Olivia Newton John 등의 예쁜 여자 country 가수들 때문이였을 거라는 확신이 있습니다. 음악을 심각하게 좋아하게 된 이후로는 Beatles가 country music에 영향을 많이 받았구나 하는 느낌과 rock에 상당히 country적인 면이 있다고 느꼈기 때문일 겁니다. 네, 일단 상대방 말 다 하게 하시고 나서 '그거 말도 안 돼'로 시작하시면 반은 이긴 겁니다.

죽는 것 처럼 사는 기회를 가졌으면 한다고 말했답니다
