수 많은 가수들이 불렀지만 Beatles가 부르는 것에 가까이 가는 것이 별로 없지 않나 저는 생각합니다. 약간 다른 노래가 되었지만 이 곡은 그 자체로서 괜찮지 않나요? 음질이 다 별로라 좀 아쉽지만 원래 음반을 찾기가 어려울 것으로 생각합니다. 저도 좀 찾아 보려고 합니다. 'All this and World War Two'라는 영화로는 실패했던 작품에 soundtrack에 실렸던 것으로 기억합니다. 이 노래 말고는 사실 별 기억이 나지 않습니다. 찾아 보니 당시 유명했던 가수들이 모두 비틀즈 노래를 불렀네요.

얼마 전에 어떤 잡지에서 Paul Simon 과의 interview 를 아주 재밌게 읽었습니다. 본인이 평생 계속 음악을 만들 수 있을 것으로 생각하지 않았다는 말이 있었습니다. 이 당시의 John 과 Paul이 이런 수준의 음악을 지금까지 계속 만들기는 어려웠겠죠.

왜 사냐고 묻는다면 - 'What am I living for? ' by Mark Almond

항상 바쁘게 (적어도 마음만은) 살아 왔었는데 어느 날 갑자기 일상이 없어진 것이 이 블로그를 시작하게 된 이유가 아닌가 하고 생각하고 있습니다. 물론 제가 기억하는 한 음악을 어려서부터 엄청 좋아한 것만은 사실이고요 이 블로그에 노래에 대해서 하나씩 쓰기 전에는 친구들이 모이는 게시판 등에 하나 둘 소개하곤 했었습니다. 이 노래에 대해서도 썼던 적이 있었습니다. 제가 보는 순간만큼은 항상 명랑하고 건강하게 사는 친구가 이 노래 너무 이상하다(?)라고 했던 기억이 있습니다. 이렇게 우울한 노래를 누가 듣는가 하는 얘기지 않았나 하고 기억합니다. 좀더 좋은 음질로 들으면 이렇게 약간 늘어진 테이프의 느낌을 주지는 않을 듯 하고요. 이 두 사람은 항상 좀 이런 좀 우울하고 어두운 노래만 하긴 했다고 인정합니다.
