다행히 아직 11월은 끝나지 않았네요 - November Rain by Guns N' Roses

밴드 이름 제대로 spell하려고 찾아봤습니다. 이 밴드의 훌륭한 노래와 연주가 많지만 가장 대곡이고 명곡이라고 많은 사람들이 얘기하는 곡이죠. Electric guitar를 한 번이라도 잡아 보신 분이라면 Slash의 Les Paul 연주를 보고 '역시'라고 한 번 쯤은 하셨을 거고 저를 비롯한 많은 사람들은 그 비싼 Gibson Les Paul은 사지 못 하고 아류로 하나씩 사시고 했을 거라는 걸 알고 있습니다. 이 곡은 다른 어떤 곡 보다도 guitarist인 Slash가 주도하는 곡이죠.

좀 전에 Guns N' Roses라는 이름으로 한국에 왔었는데 vocalist의 배 나온 모습과 또 기대를 따르지 못 하는 노래와 연주로 많은 사람들이 실망했었다는 얘기도 들었습니다.

Slash도 그렇고 Axel도 그렇고 혼자서는 모자란 점이 많이 보이는데도 다시 둘이 같이 하지는 않을 모양입니다. 안타깝죠. Rock vocal을 한다는 사람들은 누구나 다 Axel의 창법을 한 번은 흉내냈을 거라고 생각합니다. 끝 부분을 '아이아이..."하는 거요.

9월이 끝난지가 벌써 언젠데 이제 생각이 났네요. 여름이 끝나는 서운함을 노래한 곡은 참 많지만 항상 생각나는 노래입니다. Music video는 화질도 좋고 음질도 괜찮지만 좀 오바라고 생각되네요. Green Day라는 band가 얼마나 많은 사람들이 쳐다 보는 밴드가 되었는지도 생각하게 됩니다. 그래도 그런 대로 볼 만 합니다.

순진함 또는 순수함은 계속될 수 없다고 단호하게 얘기하고 있지만 전 동의하지 않는 편입니다. 조금 다른 맥락으로 계속될 수 있다고 생각합니다. Green Day는 많이 상업적으로 된 듯 하지만 여전히 좋은 노래는 하고 있고요.
