LP 가게 형님 - Poor Man's Moody Blues by Barclays James Harvest

쉽게 예상하실 수 있겠지만 용돈이라고 받으면 아껴 두었다가 음악 관계에 다 썼습니다. 다행히 제가 음악을 열심히 듣기 시작하던 때에는 소위 '빽판'이라고 하는 복사판도 있었고, '라이선스판'이라고 국내 레코드사에서 제작한 LP도 있었고 또 물론 '원판'도 있었죠. 제 경우는 일단 빽판들을 레코드샾에 갈 때 마다 왕창 사고 그 중에 맘에 드는 것들이 있으면 라이선스판을 사고, 후손까지 물려줘야 하겠다 하는 것이 있으면 원판을 사고 했습니다. 이 세가지 선택이 하나의 가수의 하나의 album에 대해 다 있는 건 아니여서 어떤 때는 위험을 무릅쓰고 라이선스판이나 원판을 사곤 했습니다.

신촌에 제가 시간 날 때 마다 들르던 조그만한 가게에 가끔씩 오는 안경 낀 대학생형이 있었는데 제가 판 사는 걸 보고 한 두 개씩 추천을 해주곤 했었습니다. 아마도 주인 아저씨하고 친척이거나 단골이거나 한 사람이였을 것으로 기억합니다. 이 음반도 그 형님이 추천해 주신 건데 빽판으로만 들어봤습니다. 운 좋게도 빽판이 음질이 좋았거든요. 원판으로 사야할 앨범들의 리스트도 길었던 때이고요.

빽판으로부터는 가사를 읽기가 어려워서 이렇게 종교적인 내용인지도 몰랐네요.
